The smell of freshly baked bagels hit your nose, right this morning? When you get off the ferry, there is definitely a bagel shop right there, and if it is morning hours, the whole coastline smells so strong.
Simit is indispensable for us. Sometimes it becomes the main meal in difficult times, and sometimes he has his tea brewed, his watermelon sliced, and his cheese and olives chosen. Some mornings, if you come across a pastry shop while walking on the same route, the scent of the neighborhood fills the streets...
For most of us, these are parts of the classic commute. That being the case, we wanted to have a recipe that would make you feel both flavors in one bite. We invite you to immortalize this moment in the kitchen. Thank you in advance.
Sift the flour into a large bowl.
Dissolve fresh yeast in a glass with warm water.
Add the yeast to the flour and add the ingredients, adding the salt last.
Continue kneading until all the ingredients are mixed together.
Form into 30-gram balls and let them rise on a lightly floured counter.
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees, without fan.
Put 5 glasses of water and molasses in a deep pot and start boiling.
Once the dough has risen, degas it, pierce the middle with your finger and form balls with round centers, then let them rise for another 15 minutes.
When the water boils, drop the round pastries with a hole in the middle into the boiling water and then coat them with sesame seeds.
Place on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. It's that easy, bon appetit!
